Commitments
I believe effective local government starts with being there when residents need help. It means being accessible, responsive, and deeply engaged with the people, businesses, and issues that affect Beaches–East York every day. If elected as your councillor, these are the commitments I will make to ensure residents have strong, accountable representation. This is not about politics or partisanship, it is about raising the standard of municipal leadership and service in our city.
How I would show up for you
Staying connected
- Weekly rotating "Café with the Councillor" events around BEY to engage residents and highlight local businesses and community spaces
- Quarterly online town halls to discuss the state of the ward and hear directly from residents
- Create multimedia content showcasing our community and explaining issues and solutions to reach as many people as possible
- Dedicated outreach to youth and seniors to ensure everyone has a voice
Transparency
- Implement participatory budgeting so everyone can have a say in what is funded in our ward, similar to what other councillors have done
- Publish a clear, accessible record of council votes with written explanations for every major vote I take
- Maintain a publicly accessible schedule showing how I spend time working for you
Day-to-day work
- Respond to all questions, comments, and requests within 2 business days, and how I will work to address them
- Commit to using the TTC and our cycling network to commute to City Hall the vast majority of the time
- Continue and expand the use of polls to gauge support for hyper-local issues like speed humps and parking on specific streets
- Promote competitive local and Canadian businesses during the city procurement process
